EAST SUFFOLK TRAVELLERS' ASSOCIATION CONSTITUTION

1. NAME: East Suffolk Travellers' Association .
2. OBJECTIVES
   1. To prevent closure of passenger services on all or part of the Ipswich- Lowestoft ,lpswich-Felixstowe and Lowestoft-Norwich lines .
   2. To work for improved public transport services and facilities throughout East Suffolk.
   3. To encourage usage of bus and rail services .
3. MEMBERSHIP
   Membershipjndividual or group , is open to any person or body supporting the objectives of the Association and paying the subscription laid down from time to time
4. FUND RAISING by the Committee .
   The Association may raise funds by any legal means . In the event of any loss , this shall be met out of the Association's funds subject to the limit of those funds .
5. GOVERNMENT
   1. The Association is governed by a Committee elected at the AGM held at a place served by the Lowestoft-lpswich line in April or May each year.
   2. The Committee consists ofthe following officers : President, Vice President (2), Chairman , Vice-Chairman , Secretary, Treasurer and up to 20 members .
   3. Other officers , (e.g. Publicity Officer, Assistant Secretary) may be appointed by the Committee from among its members .
   4. The Committee shall also have power to co-opt members to replace any who may resign , and to to co-opt up to 3 additional members during any one year.
   5. For committee meetings , a quorum of four is needed ;for a general meeting a quorum of eight is needed.
6. BRANCHES
   Branches may be formed in any place where locally desired . Branches adopt the ESTA constitution .
7. AMENDMENT
1. Any decision to disband or suspend the Association and to disburse its funds , should it be disbanded, shall be taken by a general meeting , as shall any decision to amend the constitution.
2. A minimum of 14 days notice of a general meeting must be advised to all members .
8. RESIGNATIONS
   A member whose subscription is more than nine months in arrears will be deemed to have resigned.
9. FINANCIAL
   All monies payable to the Association shall be deposited in a bank account in the name of East Suffolk Travellers' Association , the Treasurer being empowered to transfer surplus funds to an interest bearing account with that bank . No sum shall be withdrawn from Association accounts except by cheque/authority signed by 2 of 3 signatories who shall be Chairman , Secretary and Treasurer.
10. ACCOUNTING
    The financial transactions of the Association shall be recorded in such manner as the Committee think fit by the Treasurer. Such reports will be subject to annual audit by an independent auditor
