ESTA Issues "Save Our Station!" Leaflet
Story date: 20/01/2007

ESTA has just issued a new leaflet giving ten reasons why Lowestoft station should not be closed and rebuilt further west (or "transformed" or "reconfigured" in the words of the redevelopment company proposing this). We urge users to write to the Planning Office, Waveney District Council, Town Hall, High Street, Lowestoft, NR32 1HS or e-mail planningpolicy@waveney.gov.uk. It is important to do this before February 19th. The proposal would not only inconvenience many local people; it would also mean a longer walk for visitors to the shops, business and beach. The regeneration company, despite being pressed to do so, have not produced a shred of evidence to show that moving the station would encourage more people to visit the town and boost its economy.
